Introducing Smith's East High Leopard Stash!

On November 20, 2018 Smith's Food and Drug Company made a $70,000 commitment to provide food support to our school food pantry for three years. From the inception of the Stash in 2015 with PTA Presidents Patti Christensen and Jane Barker, to the fully functioning food pantry for students and their families that we have today, this partnership allows sustainability, fresh nutrition, and dependability to those in need. This pledge by Smith's not only provides needed grocery support, but will pay for summer interns/employees and some infrastructure. Today our freezer in stocked with beef and talapia. The shelves hold soups, pasta, rice, beans, and baking supplies. The fridge is loaded with eggs, cheese, butter, milk, lunch meat, and more. If you are in need of food support, please come visit the Stash and take away some amazing products! If you want to tour our services, volunteer or have questions please contact Kris.Barta@slcschools.org. The EHS student and family support program is amazing thanks to the support of our wonderful administration. It takes about 40 volunteers every week to make this all come together. Thank you to every one of you volunteers, donors, and dreamers. This labor of love has arrived!
